The National Livestock Identification Association represents all known manufacturers and distributors of livestock I.D. products in Australia. A large number of overseas manufacturers are also represented by Australian offices or distributors. The aims and objects of NLIDA are as follows:

• To represent all manufacturers and distributors of livestock identification systems and devices.
• To be the industry body available to hold any formal discussions with other peak councils, government and international bodies.
• To help introduce and administer quality and standards systems for the industry.
• To encourage research and assimilation of new technology which will assist and update identification and management of livestock and associated products.
